Practice team guide launched by Optometry Today

A free supplement in partnership with Johnson & Johnson Vision

Johnson & Johnson Vision logoOptometry Today (OT), the journal of the Association of Optometrists (AOP), in partnership with Johnson & Johnson Vision, has created a free practice team guide. The guide, Taking the Next Step, will be issued with the June/July edition of OT from 12 June.

The 20-page guide covers advice around clinical and ethical dilemmas for the practice team as well as practical tips for a successful triage process.

AOP Councillor and optometrist, Josie Evans, helped inform the content and explains that the guide is designed to support the team as a whole: “Every member of the practice team is important. The guide offers a range of helpful and informative perspectives on the key issues they face.”

Looking at how practice teams stepped up during the pandemic to ensure eye care needs were met, the guide explores how optometry supports the local community. It also tackles some of the common challenges faced such as managing complaints and the balance between selling and recommending.

The guide is part of a broader commitment by the AOP to support the wider practice team. The AOP, in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson Vision, recently launched a new webinar series aimed at fulfilling a spectrum of training needs across the practice team.
