AOP Awards selection process

Nominations

With a record number of over 30,000 votes cast for our 2018 Awards, we are keen to maintain the highest possible integrity in the nomination and voting process. As a result, this year will be working with online voting specialists Mi-Voice.

Nominations opened on 1 May and closed at 5pm on 31 July 2018.

Shortlisting 

Entries will be submitted to our panel of expert judges, drawn from across the sector, who will decide the final shortlist of nominees for voting.

Shortlisted nominees will be provided with a pack of promotional materials and postal voting forms before the public vote opens on 1 October 2018. 

Voting

Votes will be cast via the Mi-Voice website or using approved postal voting forms. All votes will be independently verified by Mi-Voice. 

Frame of the Year and Product of the Year are decided by a member-only vote, and the Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded by the Chief Executive and Chair of the AOP. All other categories will be open to a public vote. 

The public vote will open on Monday 1 October 2018, with voting for Frame of the Year and Product of the Year opening on Thursday 1 November 2018. 

Voting in all categories closes at 5pm on 12 December 2018.

By submitting a nomination to the AOP Awards 2019 you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of the Awards.

Awards Ceremony

All shortlisted nominees are invited to the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Sunday 13 January 2019 at 100% Optical, Excel, London, where the winners will be announced.
