Hakim Group has partnered with Shine Coaching, a Lancashire-based community interest company, to hold a fundraising challenge to support men’s mental health and suicide awareness.

Throughout November, team members in Hakim Group HQ are encouraged to participate in walking or running challenges, with a collective goal of covering more than 500 miles as a team.

Funds raised will be directed towards the activities and initiatives of Shine Coaching, which provides support and resolution for men struggling with stress, anger and conflict in their daily lives.

Teams from Hakim Group HQ and Shine Coaching joined on 16 November for a 4 kilometre walk around a reservoir in Blackburn.

Nick Lowe, head of communications and project management at Hakim Group, said: “We believe in the power of community and the impact it can have on mental health. By walking together and raising funds, we aim to bring communities closer and foster open conversations about men’s mental health.”

Lowe added that the collaboration with Shine Coaching enables Hakim Group to “make a meaningful contribution to a cause that is often overlooked.”

Lian Frankland, co-founder of Shine Coaching, said: “We are thrilled to join forces with Hakim Group for this impactful initiative. Mental health is a critical aspect of overall wellbeing, and our collaboration aims to make a positive difference in the lives of men in Lancashire.”

A JustGiving page has been set up to raise donations for Shine Coaching through the fundraising walk.
