The domiciliary service provider, OutsideClinic, has been acquired by UK healthcare investment company, Optimism Health Group.

In a statement, the OutsideClinic shared that the acquisition supports the “further development and growth of the business.”

Optimism Health Group focuses on providing technology solutions as well as clinical and support services to older people in their homes, with the new agreement marking the business’ first acquisition.

Commenting on the announcement, Henry Pitman, chairman of Optimism Health Group, said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of OutsideClinic.

“The business, which already operates nationally, has the potential to expand rapidly – providing ‘at home’ services not only to older people who struggle to get to a High Street, but also to other demographics who prefer to be seen in the comfort of their own home,” Mr Pitman continued.

Announcing the acquisition, the domiciliary provider affirmed that home eye and hearing tests would continue to be provided in the “usual way.”

The OutsideClinic confirmed the departure of founding optician, Damian Kenning, commenting: “We thank him and wish him all the best for the future.”

The domiciliary provider began in 1987 and has been operating for 33 years.
