The Hakim Group will hold a webinar today (9 April) sharing a 13-week financial blueprint for optical practices, to help businesses form a plan through the next few weeks of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

This follows a webinar held by the group in March to support independent practice owners to “navigate through the unprecedented challenges before them” as a result of the impact of COVID-19.

Commenting on the follow-up webinar, Luke Wren, head of business development at Hakim Group, said: “Most practices we have been speaking to now have an operational and people strategy to take account of the new rules we are now working with.”

Mr Wren highlighted that many of the questions practices have are around the gaps in finances. He added: “Whilst there still may be some unanswered questions around this subject, we are certainly in a much better position now than we were a fortnight ago to put in place a financial plan for our businesses.”

The webinar will be titled Solving the COVID-19 puzzle – Part 2 – A 13-week financial blueprint for optical practices and will take place on Thursday 9 April at 9pm.

Mr Wren said that over the past few weeks there has been “a lot of debate” around what plans should be put in place. He commented: “Using additional guidance from the Government, supporting bodies and NHS, whilst we still have further questions around the financial support offered, practices also now need an initial financial plan to get them through the next thirteen weeks.”

“This plan should be agile, flexible and well informed,” he added.

During the webinar, the Hakim Group will be sharing its 13-week financial blueprint, which has been implemented across all of its independent practices.

Mr Wren said the company is sharing this blueprint and templates with its #strongertogether community in order to “support the financial strategy for their business in the weeks ahead.”

Practices can register for the webinar via the Group’s StrongerTogether website
