Vision Express parks up at Goodwood

The multiple will provide free sight tests on its mobile testing unit during the car festival

Sight test

Vision Express will be providing car lovers with free eye tests on its Vision Van at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (12–15 July) as part of its #eyetestssavelives campaign.

The multiple is raising awareness of the importance of eye tests for drivers as one in four adults are not having regular eye tests, according to Vision Express’ own research.

The mobile eye testing unit will be at stand 411 at Goodwood with the average sight test taking 30 minutes, which Vision Express noted is the standard length of time to check under a car bonnet.

CEO of Vision Express, Jonathan Lawson, said: “My first car was a Mark 2 Golf and if that was still on the road today, it would have had an MOT around 30 times. Yet, by law, I wouldn’t have been required to have one single eye test. That presents a huge road safety problem that we need to address if we’re going to reduce the 2,900 annual road casualties caused by poor driver vision.”
