22 May 2018
Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP) is looking for a part-time optometrist to work in its London-based clinics providing sight tests and spectacles to homeless people.
The optometrist would be required to work in centres in Liverpool Street, Marylebone and Shepherds Bush, running morning clinics in each location. They would be responsible for the sight test, as well as overseeing dispensing, supervising the clinics and assisting lay members who run the clinics.
VCHP was established in 2003. It tests the sight of around 1400 homeless people annually. As well as operating three clinics across London, it runs services in Birmingham, Brighton, Manchester, Exeter and Leeds.
