A 26.2-mile run for charity

A Buckinghamshire optometrist will run the London Marathon next month in aid of Fight for Sight

Tanveer Asaria

Buckinghamshire-based optometrist Tanveer Asaria will take part in the Virgin London Marathon next month in a bid to raise £2,000 for Fight for Sight.

The practitioner, who divides her time working between the St John and St Elizabeth Hospital in London and The Vision Clinic, Harrow, will run the 26.2 mile race on 26 April.

The marathon will be Ms Asaria’s third running race. She took part in a Bupa 10k Run and the Royal Parks Half Marathon last year, raising £1,400 for the charity.

Ms Asaria said: “I really wanted to support Fight for Sight because it is the leading charity in the UK dedicated to funding eye research. I’ve always admired people who complete the London Marathon and felt inspired to run it. I’m delighted that I can raise awareness and funds for Fight for Sight at the same time.”
