In recent weeks we have heard that the GOC's chief executive and registrar, Samantha Peters, and Boots’ Opticians MD, Ben Fletcher, are moving on to pastures new.
I'm sure they are not the only ones and it seems that people across optics are embracing the opportunity of a fresh start in the New Year.
Since OT launched last year, we have seen sharing the career journeys of a wide range of practitioners who work within different areas of the optical sector and are at different stages in their career. These insights are shared through our monthly ‘How I got here’ feature within the Career Development area of the website. From a dispensing optician with a frame brand and an optom who’s dedication to charity work earned him an MBE, to an optical apprentice who now heads up Luxottica, they certainly make interesting reading.
