A date for the diary

January marks the beginning of the exhibition season, and 100% Optical is a big contender to be the best

Important date for the diary

After months of careful planning, 100% Optical is preparing to throw open its doors again in two weeks’ time.

In partnership with the AOP, the ExCeL London-based show has worked hard to put the delegate first, pinning down and executing a show that meets the needs of optometrists and all the practice team today.

And this exacting formula is winning an increasing level of support from exhibitors too.

In the past couple of months, equipment experts Birmingham Optical has said it will be joining eyewear heavy-hitters such as International Eyewear, while for those keen to speak to Specsavers about career opportunities, the multiple with an international footprint will be on hand.

Additionally, on Monday, it was announced that Essilor is the latest lens manufacturer to sign up to the event. Visitors to stand L231 will be able to find out about the company’s high profile ‘See more, do more’ campaign, plus ask questions about its range of payment terms and lens refund deals.

There is no doubt that January marks a cranking-up of the exhibition season: Opti in Munich took place last week; Milan’s Mido follows in the steps of 100% Optical at the end of February; not to forget Optrafair, which has found a regular home in Birmingham in April.

When speaking to Stephen McPherson of McPherson’s Optometrists in Aberdeen for the February edition of OT, I asked him how he made sure he made informed decisions when planning how to invest in the practice. Pointing to the importance of ‘doing your research,’ high on his list was taking the time to visit a high quality exhibition to meet suppliers and get hands-on with the kit.

This year, with a tranche of new exhibitors to meet, coupled with a three-day programme of CET-accredited education designed by the AOP with its members in mind, the case to attend 100% Optical must be the most compelling yet. OT and the AOP team look forward to seeing you there. Please come and see us at stand W300.
