In less than 48 hours’ time, 100% Optical will open its doors at London’s ExCeL Exhibition Centre for the first time since January 2020.

The three-day event, which takes place this Saturday (23 April) through to Monday (25 April), will see eye care practitioners treated to more than 130 hours of CPD content, combined with access to over 200 exhibitors, all under one roof.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, registrations for the show have been higher than ever in the event’s eight-year history and a record number of visitors are expected to attend as a result, organisers have confirmed.

The OT team will be at the show en mass, reporting on education sessions exploring key topics such as myopia, artificial intelligence, optical coherence tomography and dry eye, as well as speaking to exhibitors to find out what latest technology, equipment, business solutions and eyewear they have to offer.

We will also be there, notepad and video camera in hand, to capture thoughts from exhibitors across the show floor about sustainability, recruitment, children’s eyewear and frame trends, to name a few. And while it looks to be a packed and exciting show schedule, if you spot us at the show, please do stop us and say hello.

For anyone attending the show, now is the time to take stock, look at the education you have booked, download the 100% Optical show app if you have not done so already, browse the exhibitor list and the show floor layout, and make a plan for your time at the show. What exhibitors do you not want to miss? Who do you want to catch-up with? And what education do you want to consume?

Produced by the AOP, demand for access to this year’s education programme, which delivers across five key hubs – the Main Stage, the AOP Lounge, the Future Practice, the Optical Academy and the Dispensing Workshop – has been extremely high. Ahead of the weekend, delegates are reminded to review what sessions they have booked and cancel any they no longer plan on attending. Delegates are also encouraged to arrive to educations sessions in good time to enable a prompt start, giving other practitioners the opportunity to access the session at the show if spaces become available.

When darting from session to session and exhibitor to exhibitor in your comfy shoes (your step counter will reach new numbers guaranteed), keep an eye out for one of the AOP’s four CPD poster trails, offering you the opportunity to collect CPD on the go.

For delegates attending who are observing Ramadan, there is a prayer room on site – located beside Hall S9 – available for anyone to use as they wish, ExCeL has confirmed.

Doors will open at 9am across all three days, so be sure to arrive early to make the most of the show. We look forward to seeing you there.
