Optometry Today wins ‘best magazine’ at the Memcom Awards

Award win marks latest recognition of OT’s outstanding innovation, creativity and impact

Optometry Today (OT), the Association of Optometrists’ (AOP) bi-monthly journal, has won Best Magazine (circulation under 20k) at the 2026 Memcom Awards, held on 24 September at the Intercontinental Park Lane, London.

The award recognises outstanding achievement in membership sector publishing, celebrating editorial excellence, creative design, audience engagement and the impact of publications in supporting professional communities. OT was selected as the category winner from a competitive shortlist spanning healthcare, science, education and professional services.

The Memcom Awards celebrate innovation across membership organisations, trade associations and professional bodies, acknowledging initiatives that advance member engagement and influence.

The honour follows a year of significant development for OT, including expanded CPD and online exclusive feature content.

The win reflects the success of the collaborative work between the AOP and Think Publishing in producing a journal that supports optometrists and dispensing opticians throughout their careers.

Emily McCormick, OT Editor, said: “Winning this award is a wonderful recognition of the passion, creativity and teamwork that goes into producing the journal. Each edition is created with our members at the heart of it, so this award means a great deal to the whole team. It’s a wonderful acknowledgement, and we are grateful to everyone who contributes to making the journal such a valued part of our membership.”
