Providing domiciliary eye care services
General guidance for the profession on domiciliary eyecare around the UK, capacity and consent and data protection.
Domiciliary patient leaflet
The AOP has produced a patient leaflet on domiciliary eye care, to help raise awareness about domiciliary sight testing. AOP members can download this leaflet for use in their business.
In addition, the AOP has produced a range of patient leaflets, to help practitioners give advice to patients on a range of common eye conditions.
Domiciliary Eyecare Committee
The Domiciliary Eyecare Committee (DEC) exists to provide a dedicated sector meeting space for domiciliary eye care leaders to discuss and progress domiciliary eye care matters across the UK. Its purpose is to coordinate action across the UK to enable practitioners to deliver high-quality eye care, which meets the needs of domiciliary patients. The committee includes members nominated by the AOP, ABDO, FODO and the College of Optometrists, including practitioners with relevant experience as practising domiciliary providers.
The DEC terms of reference can be found on the AOP website, and if you would like to get in touch with the DEC, please contact [email protected].
