Peter Campbell has been named recipient of the AOP Lecturer of the Year Award 2019
Winner: Peter Campbell
City University Lecturer Peter Campbell has over 18 years' experience in community practice and in a hospital setting. Before teaching he was a research optometrist at Moorfields Eye Hospital/Institute of Ophthalmology. In 2015 he completed his Professional Doctorate at London South Bank University and the Institute of Optometry on the accuracy of different methods of anterior angle assessment at detecting primary angle closure glaucoma. He currently works part-time as a lecturer at City, in practice, and as a glaucoma practitioner at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust.
How it feels to be a winner
Thanks to all the students and people who voted for me and the team at City University who have helped me so much since I started. I think as a lecturer you have to engage with the students a lot and I’ve had so much fun from it as well.
