Samsung launches smart glasses

The electronics company is set to reveal its new smart visual aid glasses next week

Samsung will introduce smart visual aid glasses at the electronics event, CES 2018, which takes place in Las Vegas from 9–12 January.

Developed by the company’s C-Lab (Creative Lab) programme, the Relúmĭno smart glasses have been designed for visually impaired people to assist them when reading or viewing everyday objects.

The glasses work in conjunction with a smart phone, using its processors and batteries via the Relúmĭno app, so that visually impaired people can utilise the technology comfortably and discreetly.

The user’s smartphone processes images from videos projected through the camera of the glasses, which are then floated into the display of the Relúmĭno glasses to help the wearer see things better.
