The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is seeking an experienced professional for the vacancy of panel chair on the Secretary of State for Transport’s Honorary Medical Advisory Panel on Driving and Visual Disorders.

The DVLA works with six medical advisory panels, covering vision, cardiology, neurology, diabetes, psychiatry, and alcohol or substance misuse and dependence. The purpose of panels is to provide the Secretary of State for Transport with expert advice in order to maintain and improve road safety.

Applications opened on 25 October and will close at midnight on 29 November.

The panels, which meet at least twice a year, act purely in an advisory capacity. They may also be required to provide additional advice to DVLA outside of the twice-yearly meetings.
