Brien Holden Vision Institute appoints acting executive director
Tim Fricke will lead the BHVI team while Leigh Cleave takes a year out to travel

Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI) has appointed optometrist Dr Tim Fricke as acting executive director with immediate effect.
Dr Fricke, who is a senior research fellow at the BHVI, will manage the team while executive director Leigh Cleave takes a year out to travel.
He is a researcher and has held management and leadership roles in private, public and community health, as well as having experience in paediatric eye care.
Speaking about his appointment, Dr Fricke said: “I am a passionate advocate for sight being a fundamental right for everyone, regardless of where they live and BHVI is the world leader in ensuring this vision becomes a reality. It is an exciting time to be taking BHVI to the world.”
