Getting qualified

The provider of two training courses for optical assistants in Scotland is highlighting that its next intake begins on 1 April.

Insight Optical Training is welcoming applications from people who wish to complete the SCQF Level 5 or Level 7 Certifications in Optical Care, which are supported by NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and awarded by the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers.

Insight Optical Training describes the Level 5 course as suitable for those who have recently joined optics, with the Level 7 course aimed at experienced optical assistants.

NES is providing funding for a limited number of places on each course, meaning the Level 5 and Level 7 qualifications can be studied for £200 and £250 respectively.
