OT takes a look at what eyewear launches are planned for the Paris trade show
16 August 2018
Silmo 2018 will feature launches from British, US and European eyewear brands when it returns to Paris on 28 September–1 October.
De Rigo will preview new sunglasses from brands such as Converse and Fila (pictured below is Fila ‘SF9246), as well as showcase collections from its Police, Nina Ricci and Zadig & Voltaire brands.
Managing director of De Rigo Vision, Michele Aracri, said: “Over the last few year, Simo has evolved, proving to be an innovative fair; with it being open to changes within the industry and attracting an increasing number of independent customers. The fair’s growing attention to the needs and incentives of the eyewear industry has led us to return to the 2018 edition.”
British brand TD Tom Davies will showcase its Silver 925 collection of spectacles, before its official launch in January. Pictured below from the collection is ‘73915’ in silver and horn.
New York-based eyewear brand, Modo, will launch its autumn/winter 2018 collection, which includes titanium and acetate models.
Styles from its Paper-Thin Titanium range include ‘Navigli,’ which is a pantos shape with angular edges that is available in six colour options, such as a crystal rim and beige titanium combination.
The ‘4518’ model (pictured below) from the Paper-Thin Acetate is a pantos shaped, semi-rimless frame available in colour options, such as signature crystal and gold titanium or Havana tortoise with gold titanium.
Marcolin will showcase new launches from Atelier Swarovski Eyewear, Ermenegildo Zegna Eyewear, Guess Eyewear, Moncler Lunettes, Roberto Cavalli Eyewear and Swarovski Eyewear.
The ‘SK0163-P’ model (pictured below) from the Atelier Swarovski Eyewear collection is a cat’s eye shape with crystal embellishments on a metal frame.
Dunelm Optical will showcase 22 new frames from its designer house brand for women, Freya, which is designed in Britain and inspired by Scandinavian style.
CEO at Dunelm Optical, Peter Beaumont, said: “Freya is a stunning brand that will fill the gap in the adult female optical market. Portraying style, confidence and practicality, Freya oozes femininity, luxury and finesse and is ideally suited to today’s modern woman.”
