College council election results revealed
Organisation names its new and re-elected councillors
17 January 2018
Optometrists Prab Boparai (pictured) and Dr Irene Ctori have been named councillors of the College of Optometrists representing West Midlands and London respectively.
The practitioners join the optical body's council following a recent election, which also saw Deepali Modha, Lisa O'Donoghue and Lorcan Butler elected unopposed.
Joining the council, Ms Boparai said: “I am delighted to be given this opportunity...I will do my best to represent the views of everybody in the best manner possible. A particular area that I wish to focus on is in raising awareness of eye health and the profile of our profession to the nation.”
Retaining their seats on the council are Johnathan Waugh, Colin Davidson, Stephanie Campbell, Professor Leon Davies, Dr Joy Myint and Parth Shah.
New council members officially begin their term following the College AGM on 19 March.
