Three new directors for ABDO board
Daryl Newsome, Kevin Gutsell and Rupesh Patel to serve for three years
19 July 2016
The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) has announced that three new members are joining its board.
Kevin Gutsell (pictured centre), a former vice president of ABDO, is returning to the board after an absence of two years. Daryl Newsome (pictured left), a partner in three-practice Devon group Newsome Opticians, and Rupesh Patel (pictured right), who works for Boots Opticians in Manchester, are joining the board for the first time. They will serve for three years.
At the closing date for nominations on 9 June, ABDO had four candidates nominated for election to the board. The association highlights that on 13 July Anthony Blackman accepted a new role at ABDO College and subsequently withdrew from the election. A ballot will therefore not take place this year and the three new board members have been elected.
