IACLE confirms record membership

Membership of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators rose by 11% in 2014

Membership of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE) reached a record high in 2014, with the association recording an 11% growth. 

Reporting on its activities in 2014, the association revealed that it now has a total of 958 members across 75 countries. While around 50% of the IACLE's members are located in China, India, Taiwan, Mexico, Brazil and Russia, it saw its largest growth in the Asia Pacific region last year. 

Furthermore, the IACLE programme reached more students than ever before and spanned 23,030 students in 658 institutions. A total of 17 web lectures were broadcast online live. 

IACLE president, Dr Shehzad Naroo, commented: "In 2014 we were able to exceed our goals for the year. We reached more students and educators then ever before. Our membership levels increased and our message seems to be more far reaching. We look forward to an even busier year ahead."
