The director of policy at the NHS Alliance, Michael Sobanja, has been appointed chair of the 2015 Vision UK conference.

Themed Working together to deliver the UK Vision Strategy, the annual one-day conference will be held at Central Hall in Westminster, London, on 18 June.

Speaking about his new role, Mr Sobanja commented: “I am delighted to be chairing this year’s Vision UK conference. One year on from the launch of NHS England’s Call to Action, this year’s event will provide an excellent forum to openly discuss the progress being made within the eye health and sight loss sector, and to hear about how the UK Vision Strategy is being implemented right around the UK.”

Now in its seventh year, organisers have introduced a new format to the event this year, with delegates able to choose from one of five streams which are focused on delivering aspects of the UK Vision Strategy and tailored to different professional interests.
