A quantum leap

My-iClinic’s John Bolger told 100% Optical attendees about a breakthrough in laser treatment

John Bolger

Delegates at 100% Optical (12–14 January, ExCeL) were told that femtosecond laser treatment is a “quantum leap” in the management of refractive error.

Clinic director and consultant ophthalmologist at My-iClinic, John Bolger, said: “Finally, we have a safe laser that will treat all patients who have myopia.”

Speaking about Zeiss’ VisuMax device, Mr Bolger said it is “a real breakthrough in terms of safety and accuracy. It really makes contact lenses and glasses option two if you are myopic.”

Watch Mr Bolger discuss My-iClinic’s small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) treatment below.
