Mock the Week and 8 out of 10 Cats comic Holly Walsh will host this year’s AOP Awards black-tie ceremony (5 February, ExCeL London).
Ms Walsh will help to announce the winners of the 13 categories in the Awards. Of these, 11 were voted for by the public, with Product of the Year selected by AOP members, and the Lifetime Achievement Award chosen by AOP board chair, Kevin Thompson, and chief executive, Henrietta Alderman.
Ms Walsh highlighted that she was delighted to take the hosting duties, adding: “It has been interesting to read about the enormously talented and skilled people working in the sector – there are some real unsung heroes. I look forward to celebrating with them at the event.”
Ms Alderman emphasised that: “This year, we have seen some remarkable entries who demonstrate real commitment and skill in delivering for patients as well as playing an important role in the optical community. We are looking forward to giving them the recognition they deserve.”
This year’s Awards are the first to be held as part of the 100% Optical trade show. Tickets to the dinner event are available on the AOP website.
