An online portrait gallery, titled Faces of Moorfields, has been launched as part of a series of ‘reflect and reconnect’ events organised by Moorfields Eye Hospital.
The photo series features portraits of more than 130 staff and volunteers who worked at Moorfields during the pandemic.
Moorfields Eye Hospital chief executive, David Probert, shared that both clinical and non-clinical staff displayed great resilience and leadership during the pandemic.
“This gallery is a wonderful tribute to, and provides a snapshot of, the fantastic people here at Moorfields who I know will continue to provide the best care they can,” he emphasised.
Professor Mariya Moosajee, of Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, highlighted the unprecedented nature of the past year.
“This gallery is a commemoration of the past year, and how together we form the Moorfields family,” she observed.
Brendan Wimsey, who works as a logistics operative (stores), shared that he was proud to be recognised despite working behind the scenes at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
"To be able to ensure the smooth running of all the departments during the pandemic has been a challenge, but to see so many members of staff all aiming for the same thing has been inspiring,” he said.
