Optegra appoints new consultant
Andrew Turnbull joins the eye hospital’s Hampshire facility

Andrew Turnbull has joined eye hospital group Optegra as a specialist consultant surgeon.
Mr Turnbull, who has recently returned to the UK from Perth, Australia where he worked under a fellowship with Professor Graham Barrett, specialises in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery and will be based at Optegra’s Hampshire hospital.
The specialist consultant surgeon has 14 years medical and ophthalmic training across Wessex where he has worked at Southampton General Hospital, Salisbury District Hospital and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Turnbull said: “While it was hard to leave Australia, I am excited to bring my family back to the UK and to be starting with such a reputable hospital group. It is a great place to work, has a good atmosphere and the patients are extremely well looked after.”
