Optometrist calls for volunteers to take part in this summer’s Cycle for Sight challenge

An independent practice owner will be taking to his bike this summer to raise funds for Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) and is seeking volunteers to join him.
Ivan Cammack, who has three practices in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, is taking part in this year’s Cycling for Sight challenge.
The 2019 event will host two organised rides, while practitioners are also able to create their own challenge to ride.
The first organised event that fundraisers can get involved in is the L’Etape UK at Chiltern Hills on 14 July where cyclists can opt to cover 42, 68 or 100 miles.
The second is the 100-mile Prudential Ride London challenge, which takes place on 4 August.
Encouraging practitioners to take part in the challenge, Mr Cammack said: “Whether you’re a club cyclist who regularly enjoys a sportive, a gym enthusiast who prefers a spin class or just the owner of a dusty old Raleigh in the shed, I would love you to join me in this year’s Cycling for Sight.”
“It’s a chance to take part in some fantastic organised rides this summer, all while raising money for a great cause. In between these events, you can also help by cycling as much as you can. On your spin bike, on your trike, on your mountain bike, as long as you join in the fundraising,” he added.
