The Danish eyewear chain which launched in the UK last year, CrossEyes Eyewear, will open its second store next month ‘with many more to come,’ according to the company.

The location of the new practice, Amersham on the Hill, in Buckinghamshire, was announced to the public with a competition on social media offering a pair of sunglasses as the prize.

The new practice will be owned and run by franchisee, Amit Mandla, who lives near the vibrant historical market town.
Mr Mandla said: “As an experienced optometrist, I love the idea of the CrossEyes concept, in giving a full package of providing quality eye care at a quality price. Just what our profession needs and deserves.”

UK master franchisee, Panos Nicolaou (pictured), told OT: “The CrossEyes team is excited about opening our new shop on 15 May. Amersham on the Hill is a great new location for CrossEyes, we can reach people living in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire who want some great eyewear for a fair price.”

Mr Nicolaou added: “Amit is a great guy, he cares about being an optometrist and now he’s going to enjoy his job too.”

Mr Nicolaou opened the first UK CrossEyes practice in 2014 in Clerkenwell, London. He looks after the store on a daily basis as the resident optometrist, as well as heading up the UK expansion with chief executive, Søren Møller, who is based at the CrossEyes headquarters in Denmark.

Initially the Clerkenwell practice was named CrossEyes London, however, with more London stores in the pipeline, it will now be known as CrossEyes Clerkenwell. In line with the expansion, CrossEyes will also be changing on social media from CrossEyes London to CrossEyes UK.

Co-owner of CrossEyes UK, Marianne Nicolaou, said: “We announced the location of our next store to the public with a competition on social media which gave a great and overwhelming response. At CrossEyes, we use social media as a fun way to communicate with our customers. We find it is a great way to engage with people and to make them feel part of what we are doing as a company.”
