Understanding sight loss from a patient perspective

A 12-point CET training day in London will help optometrists and allied health professionals to support patients living with sight loss

A continuing education and training (CET) day in London will provide insight into how optical and allied health professionals can best support patients living with sight loss.

The Bringing the Sight Loss Journey into Focus event covers barriers to accessing healthcare among those with sight loss, effective communication and sighted guiding.

Attendees will learn methods and strategies to help patients with sight loss, including tints, mobile apps and independent living products.

Patient stories will be presented to give course participants insight into the emotional impact of sight loss.

The course, which offers 12 interactive CET points, will be held from 9am to 4.30pm on 14 July at David Game College in London. It is sponsored by Sight and Sound Technology.
