ABDO College has published a new prospectus which outlines the training courses that the organisation now provides on behalf of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers (WCSM).
The College took over the day-to-day running of the WCSM’s training courses for optical technicians and optical retail staff this spring.
The WCSM courses available from ABDO College range from Level 2 Optical Support to Level 4 Optical Technicians, while a new Level 4 Optical Assistant course will be available in 2016.
When the change to the running of the courses was announced in April, the organisations confirmed that the WCSM would remain the awarding body, and would accredit the College as an examination centre. They added that successful candidates would still be presented with their certificates at the livery company’s prestigious annual ceremony in the historic Apothecaries’ Hall in London each October.
