Scottish opticians Black & Lizars has announced the appointment of Geraldine Wood (pictured) as managing director. She replaces CEO Mark Ross, who has left the company, a statement from the opticians confirmed.
Ms Wood has been with Black & Lizars for more than 12 years and previously held the role of chief operating officer.
While co-founder Colin Black remains in post as a senior optometrist at the opticians, supply chain director, Alison Scammell, has also left the company.
Black & Lizars opened a new flagship store in Edinburgh last month, taking its practice portfolio to 24 branches across Scotland, as well as one in Northern Ireland. Over the last two years, financial figures have reported a 20% increase in turnover.
