Optometrist

At Sherratt Opticians we are looking for an optometrist to join our experienced and friendly team. As an independent practice we offer a unique opportunity to practice in a relaxed and supportive environment with the patient in the centre of all that we do.

We offer fundus photography and optical coherence tomography (OCT) scanning to all our patients and are well equipped for visual field testing with a Humphrey VFA. We are involved with all aspects of shared care including CUES, Ocular Hypertension Monitoring, Glaucoma Referral Refinement and Stable Glaucoma Monitoring as well as pre and post-op cataract assessment. We fit and supply a range of contact lenses, both soft and GPs. Our dispensing opticians are always on hand to offer their support and expertise and our team of highly trained optical assistants carry out all pre screening tests.

We are looking for an optometrist willing to become an integrated part of the practice team with involvement in all areas. A practitioner who is currently registered to provide shared care and has some experience with OCT interpretation would be beneficial, although support and training can be provided as needed. Above all a friendly, approachable optometrist with good communication skills willing to go the extra mile for our patients is key. With 40-minute testing times we allow plenty of time to provide that personalised service.

A full time role is available but we are happy to discuss a more tailored part-time position for the right candidate, with salary negotiable.
