OT speaks to Eyespace’s Emily Andrews
Practitioners have expressed “a lot of excitement” about British eyewear brand, Eyespace’s Eco Conscious frame collection, the company’s product director Emily Andrews told OT during 100% Optical last month.
“Eco Conscious is huge for us,” Ms Andrews said, sharing that frames in the collection are made from a bio-based acetate with a biodegradable lens.
The company has also pledged to plant a tree for every frame within the collection that is sold. It has also reviewed the packaging of the frames and removed all plastic, opting to supply the frames in a recycled and recyclable paper pouch.
“At Eyespace environmental and social responsibility is super important and when we talk to practitioners you can really feel that passion from them,” Ms Andrews said.
Also during the three-day trade show, Eyespace launched its first Aspinal of London optical collection.
100% Optical 2021 will be held at ExCeL on 23–25 January.
