Scope at 100% Optical 2020

OT  speaks to Scope’s David Blackwell

Scope product

Scope launched two new products during 100% Optical in January, its Optase eye lid cleansing gel and its dry eye regime pack.

David Blackwell, Scope’s regional sales manager for the south of England, explained that the Optase Gel has been developed to complement the company’s Optase tea tree oil lid wipes, which it launched around 18 months ago. Both products are designed to help treat the symptoms of dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction.

The gel, Mr Blackwell said, goes directly onto the lashes and is “really easy to use.”

The second product showcased at the event was Scope’s dry eye regime pack, which Mr Blackwell described as: “Something the industry had been crying out for.”

The set of four products have been selected to provide patients with everything they need to help them treat dry eye in a single set.

Scope is “trying to educate the industry to be more proactive [about dry eye],” Mr Blackwell said, adding: “Patients are looking for something more than just eye drops.”

The pack has been developed to help patients understand the treatment requirements “as it’s all there in one pack,” Mr Blackwell said.
