Mainline Instruments told OT that it takes 30 seconds to train someone on its newly-launched Huvitz optical coherence tomography (OCT) device.

The device combines OCT, fundus colour imaging and software to provide multi-purpose functions for diagnosis.

Speaking at 100% Optical, Mainline Instruments business development manager, Jack Hawkins, said: “OCT is a crowded market at the moment, but we’ve got a different option for them. It’s quick and easy to use.”

The equipment company also showcased its Icare ic200 tonometer (pictured), which enables practitioners to take a pressure measurement of a patient who is standing up, sitting or lying down.

“It can be difficult during domiciliary visits to get people in an upright position. Now you can go and see them in their home where they might in a reclined chair and you don’t need to worry about disturbing them,” Mr Hawkins shared.
