CooperVision has launched a new brand of silicone hydrogel daily disposable contact lenses designed for first time wearers in the 18—25—year-old market.

The company explained that Live is a brand designed to meet the needs of today’s wearers through the health benefits of silicone hydrogel at an entry-level price point.

Health benefits include greater oxygen transmissibility than hydrogel lenses and a built-in UV protection that blocks 98% of UVB and 75% of UVA rays, CooperVision explained.

Live incorporates CooperVision’s AquaGen technology, which creates a high water content, naturally wettable lens for all-day comfort. It is available in powers from +8.00 to -10.00.

Senior marketing manager at CooperVision, Sarah Weston, said: “Live offers practitioners a superb opportunity to appeal to young adults. The 18-25 year-old age group are the most likely to be interested in contact lenses and possibly start a lifetime of contact lens wearing behaviour. With Live, we’re proud to make the benefits of silicone hydrogel daily disposable lenses more accessible to a wider audience.”
