Bausch & Lomb (B+L) has announced that it will be presenting a portfolio of products from its contact lens, lens care and over-the-counter categories at the British Contact Lens Association’s (BCLA) Clinical Conference and Exhibition (9–11 June, ACC Liverpool).

Highlighting a ‘passion for innovation,’ the ULTRA lens will be showcased, which has been developed using a “unique new silicone hydrogel material to meet the challenges of digital lifestyles,” the company explained.

B+L told OT that the proprietary 2 stage polymerisation process has “changed the way that polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is integrated within the contact lens material, so that it is grown both through and around a silicone backbone, providing a high concentration of PVP that ensures excellent wettability in a lens with a high water content (46%), high Dk/t (163) and low modulus (0.69).”1

ULTRA is available in both single vision and for presbyopia.

Zenlens, the most recent addition to the speciality lens division will also be on show at the BCLA event by Bausch and Lomb on stand 47. The company noted that Zenlens brings Smart Curve technology to the fitting of mini-sclerals, with prolate and oblate designs to fit a wide range of corneal shapes.

Bausch and Lomb’s business unit head, Amy Rothwell, told OT: "We are looking forward to another successful BCLA conference. BCLA is an opportunity for Bausch and Lomb to stay close to our customers and complement the educational and clinical content of the meeting with our scheduled CET programme as well as providing access to our extensive and recently extended portfolio of eye health products."
