Adding power to Colors
Alcon extends its Air Optix Colors range
29 May 2015
The contact lens power range now includes +6.00D to -6.00D, in 0.25D steps and including plano lenses, and -6.50D to -8.00D, in 0.50D steps.
General manager of Alcon UK and Ireland, Shervin Korangy, said: “Consumers are interested in Air Optix Colors contact lenses because of the range of colours available and the comfortable wear they get with this lens.”
He added: “Hyperopes have been vocal about their desire to try the lenses, and having plus powers available is a great way for practitioners to re-engage with their longsighted customers about colour contact lenses.”
Air Optix Colors is said by Alcon to combine a three-in-one technology for a natural, attractive eye colour, with a unique surface technology for consistent comfort.
The contact lenses are available as a silicone hydrogel, which allows up to six times more oxygen through the contact lens compared to older technology coloured contact lenses.
Air Optix Colors are recommended for daily wear, with a monthly replacement schedule. The lenses are available with a 8.6mm base curve and a 14.2mm diameter.
Alcon has highlighted that there is no refit required for current Air Optix Aqua contact lens wearers.
