Hakim Group supporting men’s health this November

The Hakim Group is supporting the health of men in its local community and beyond this November.

November is Men’s Health Awareness Month, and Hakim Group head office staff are working with Lancashire-based Shine Coaching to raise awareness around the mental health of men in the area. 

Shine Coaching provides support and resolution for men, living in Lancashire, who are struggling to deal with stress, anger, and conflict in their daily lives.

Hakim Group colleagues are being challenged to walk or run a minimum of 60km throughout the November, in order to raise money for both Shine Coaching and Movember.

Movember is a charity that encourages men to grow a moustache in November in order to raise awareness of issues including prostate and testicular cancer and suicide.

Staff members have been able to track their progress throughout the month via a dedicated microsite.

To mark International Men’s Day on Saturday 19 November, a sponsored walk took place at Entwistle Reservoir, close to Hakim Group’s headquarters.

Nick Lowe, head of communication and project management at Hakim Group, said: “The health of our teams is of paramount importance, and to mark Men’s Health Awareness Month we wanted to do something to get people thinking and talking about their overall wellbeing.”
