Vision Aid Overseas calls for practices to take part in Big World Sight Day Lunch
The charity is providing a lunch box of bunting, invites and balloons to practices hosting an event

Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) has called for practitioners across the UK to celebrate World Sight Day on 11 October by organising a Big World Sight Day Lunch.
The lunch events are designed to encourage donations that will be used to cover the cost of a sight test and a pair of glasses for people living in one of the charity’s partner countries.
Director of fundraising and communications at VAO, Andy Holliday, explained that the charity will provide a “lunch box” of materials such as bunting, invites and balloons to support practices promoting the event to patients, family and friends.
“The Big World Sight Day Lunch is a really simple way to get everyone together and involved in supporting access to eye care everywhere,” he said.
Holiday company and supporter of VAO, Freedom Destinations, has pledged to double every donation up to the first £5000 raised through the Big World Sight Day Lunch events.
Managing director of Freedom Destinations, David Wallis, said: “We are really excited to be supporting the work of Vision Aid Overseas by making your donation go further. We believe that the world is a beautiful place, and everyone deserves the right to see it clearly.”
