Record-breaking research awards
Fight for Sight names its PhD studentship recipients
26 April 2018
Fight for Sight has awarded almost £1m in PhD studentships, a record figure for the national eye research charity.
Announcing the 10 recipients of the awards, the charity confirmed that research will span a range of areas, including optic nerve damage, age-related macular degeneration, sight after a stroke and ocular inflammatory disease.
Chief executive of Fight for Sight, Michele Acton, said: “This year we have awarded more PhD studentships than ever before. We are committed to addressing sight loss and these awards will enable pioneering research to be undertaken, as well as supporting the development of young eye researchers.”
