Fight for Sight names three new charity trustees

National eye research charity Fight for Sight has appointed three new trustees to its board. They are Professor John Grant, Jenny Williams and Barbara Merry.

Professor Grant, who joins the charity’s board and grant committee, is an assistant principal for strategy and director of The Policy Institute at King’s College London. Prior to his position at King’s College London, Professor Grant, was president of RAND Europe from June 2006 –October 2012.

Ms Williams will become a member of Fight for Sight’s marketing and fundraising committee. She is currently also a board member of the fundraising regulator of the GB Greyhound Regulatory Board, as well as a trustee of the International Association of the Gaming Regulators.

Ms Merry joins Fight for Sight’s board and finance committee with 30 years of experience in senior management and is currently a court member of the Worshipful Company of Insurers.

The trio join the charity’s board immediately, which is led by it chairman Nigel Pantling, and will work closely with the charity’s CEO, Michele Acton.

Welcoming the new trustees, Ms Acton said: “It’s fantastic to welcome three skilled individuals to the board. They will each play an important role in helping to shape the charity and we are grateful for their input in helping create a future everyone can see.”
