A team of 38 runners representing Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) have completed the Great Ethiopian Run.
Held on 22 November, the 10k race took runners through Addis Ababa, the highest city in Africa. They joined 40,000 other runners, including a group of optometrists, doctors and nurses from GTM hospital in Butajira where VAO runs one of its Vision Centres.
Despite the challenge of running at altitude, with the city 2300 metres above sea level, the whole team completed the race and to date has raised over £73,000 to support the charity in continuing to provide eye care in developing countries.
