2018 membership offer terms and conditions

The 2018 free trial membership offer is available from 5 October 2018 until 7 December 2018
The offer is valid for GOC-registered optometrists and dispensing opticians paying by Direct Debit from a UK bank or building society. Only new or lapsed pre-2018 members can take advantage of the free trial 2018 AOP membership offer. Students, Lay Practice owners and those who practise overseas are not eligible for this offer. The free trial may not be used in conjunction with any other offers or promotions
We reserve the right to exclude those who have redeemed free period offers in previous years
The free trial 2018 AOP membership offer is made to you by the Association of Optometrists (2 Woodbridge Street, London, EC1R 0DG) and entitles you to join the AOP for free from the period of 5 October until 7 December 2018 and receive the remainder of the membership year for free
Your free trial will start as soon as your membership application has been processed and verified by our membership team. Acceptance of membership and cover is subject to our standard membership terms and conditions and our privacy policy

During the trial period, trial members will not be able to access the AOP's in-house legal services. Free trial members are able to make use of AOP's 24 hour legal helpline by calling 0345 250 0762

Should you not continue with AOP membership following the trial, and an insurance claim is notified to the AOP in relation to the period you were a trial member, you will need to rejoin the Association for a period to be agreed

By applying for the free membership trial and submitting your online application with your Direct Debit payment details, you automatically accept our membership terms and conditions and consent to us using your payment details in accordance with our membership terms and conditions and the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme
We will begin to charge you the appropriate 2019 membership fee, as per our membership terms and conditions, from the end of your free trial period (31 December 2018) unless you cancel before the deadline date (midnight 7 December 2018). By agreeing to the AOP’s membership terms and conditions you are committing to a 12-month consecutive membership and relevant membership fees
On acceptance of your free trial membership we will contact you with your membership payment schedule at least 10 days in advance of the first Direct Debit collection on 1 January 2019 in accordance with the Direct Debit Guarantee and our membership terms and conditions
If you decide that you do not want to be a paying member of the AOP, you can cancel your membership at any time before the free trial period deadline (midnight 7 December 2018) by emailing [email protected]. We will need to receive notice of your cancellation before the free trial period deadline (midnight 7 December 2018). To cancel as a paying member of the AOP, our membership terms and conditions will apply
You may only use this offer once
The AOP reserves the right to modify or withdraw this offer at any time at its absolute discretion without notice or liability. The AOP may also change these terms and conditions at any time without notice or liability
