Time:

Interactive CPD points: 6

This evening of education is delivered in partnership with the Vision team at Johnson & Johnson.

Delegates will benefit from a peer review facilitated by the AOP’s clinical and regulatory team, followed by a discussion workshop led by the Vision team at Johnson & Johnson.

The discussion workshop will provide the tools needed to be able to differentiate the features and benefits of contact lenses and offer clear, personalised recommendations to patients, ultimately improving their satisfaction and retention.

Learning outcomes

  • Practitioners will appreciate the importance of a full understanding of patient lifestyle needs and visual requirements to provide personalised recommendations
  • Practitioners will develop their ability to communicate the features and benefits of the lenses they are recommending to their patients to maximise patient satisfaction and reduce contact lens drop out
  • Practitioners will appreciate how remaining up to date with clinical insights, product developments and current research will enable them to provide the most appropriate recommendation to their patients.

Please note: This session was also delivered at 100% Optical 2024 and will cover the same cases. Delegates who have already participated in this session will only be eligible for the CPD points once.

The peer review will discuss the common clinical, ethical and regulatory scenarios practitioners encounter when examining children, and how to manage these situations effectively in practice.

Learning outcome

  • Practitioners will identify strategies for managing children presenting with functional vision loss
  • Practitioners will recognise how to manage child safeguarding issues in clinical practice.
