Westminster Eye Health Day

Raising the profile of eye health with Parliamentarians to drive policy change

Marsha de Cordova MP speaking

The Eyes Have It (TEHI) coalition hosted a parliamentary reception, marking the fifth anniversary of Westminster Eye Health Day.

The event, sponsored by Marsha De Cordova MP, highlighted the importance of eye health within the wider NHS reform agenda and gave parliamentarians the opportunity to engage directly with sector leaders and partners.

At the reception, the 10-Year Health Plan Implementation Report was launched , exploring how improvements in eye care aligns with the Government’s three shifts and delivers measurable benefits across the healthcare system.

By engaging parliamentarians, policymakers, and health stakeholders, the partnership built awareness of the report’s central themes, positioned the report as a reference point for system-wide improvements, and provided a practical avenue to advocate for eye health in Parliament.

TEHI is a partnership of the Association of Optometrists, Macular Society, Fight for Sight, RNIB, the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Roche Products Ltd. Roche funds the activities of the partnership.
