About The Eyes Have It coalition of leading eye health organisations and its aims for patient eye care
The Eyes Have It (TEHI) partnership is a coalition of national organisations campaigning to champion the importance of eye health and help improve the lives of patients with deteriorating eye conditions.
TEHI is a partnership of the Association of Optometrists, Macular Society, Fight for Sight, RNIB, the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Roche Products Ltd. Roche has funded the activities of the partnership.
The coalition calls for the Government to develop and implement a national eye care plan which maximises on the existing capacity in primary and secondary eye care to ensure patients with eye conditions receive the care they deserve.
The national plan should include:
- Prevention, diagnosis and early intervention in an integrated system
- Equity of access, support and patient empowerment throughout the patient pathway
- Investment in the eye care workforce
- Improved IT connectivity between primary and secondary care
- New models of care, technologies and treatment models
- Increased investment into research for future treatments
- Greater availability of treatments for patients.
