Safilo Group has signed a perpetual licence agreement with Authentic Brands Group (Authentic) for David Beckham Eyewear.

Through the new agreement, which substitutes a previous contract due to expire at the end of 2030, Safilo will continue to oversee the value chain, including the design process with David Beckham, along with production and distribution.

The first Eyewear by David Beckham collection was released in 2020 in collaboration with Safilo Group and since then, two lines have been released each year for spring/summer and autumn/winter.

Commenting on the agreement, Beckham said: “I continue to look forward to more years of creation and innovation with the fantastic team at Safilo. I am so proud of what we have achieved since our first Eyewear by David Beckham collection in 2020, which is down to the hard work and collaboration with a brilliant and creative team.”

“While continuing to focus on developing standout styles, I am excited to see where we will take the business in the future,” he added.

So far this year Safilo Group has celebrated the early renewal of several of its partnerships, and Angelo Trocchia, CEO of Safilo Group, described the new agreement as “another milestone within our strategy.”

“By transforming David Beckham into a perpetual licence, we secure another cornerstone of our portfolio with one of the most successful eyewear brands of recent years,” he said. “We will continue to work together to further maximise the brand awareness and its global penetration.”
