Optometrist Dr Byki Huntjens is senior lecturer and the undergraduate programme director at City, University of London.
In this vlog she discusses how her academic role means that she is responsible for the design and delivery of the undergraduate optometry curriculum.
While academia was not initially a path that she was interested in pursuing when studying to become an optometrist, Dr Huntjens was inspired to go into academia after a three-month trip to the University of Houston which she says opened her eyes to the varied aspects of optometry outside of working in practice.
“Every day is different and full of challenges,” she shares.
